The course equips students with knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences essential to clinical trials and pharmacy practice; firm grounding in chemistry, cell biology, human biology, microbiology, biochemistry and immunology to provide a foundation for specialised topics including pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, patient-care skills, medical microbiology and pharmaceutical analysis; extensive knowledge in pharmacology; patient counselling techniques employed in pharmacy practices; working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and clinical research management; good understanding of the business concepts, marketing strategies and issues relating to the pharmaceutical industry; pharmaceutical analytical skills needed to perform quality assurance and control in pharmaceutical manufacturing; analytical, independent and collaborative learning, research, communication and interpersonal skills; awareness of the social and ethical issues affecting the pharmaceutical industry.

Students from Malaysia, should have SPM/UEC: candidates must have the following minimum results taken at not more than two sittings of the SPM/UEC Examination: Grade A+ to C / 1 to 6 in Bahasa Inggeris; A+ to C / 1 to 6 in Elementary, Additional or Advanced Mathematics; A+ to C / 1 to 6 in A required Science subject: Biology; Chemistry; Physics. Chinese students need to have completed National College Entrance Examination Certificate qualifications with at least five points above Tier 2 score line. Indian, Indonesian and Vietnamese students should have Standard 12 qualifications. Students from Myanmar should have BEHS Certificate. Other international students need to have International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or national examination at Standard 12.
