This course has been developed to meet the professional and academic needs of graduates of the Diploma in Computing in order that they may function effectively in the development of computer systems. Students typically progress from the Diploma into the Advanced Diploma in Computing and subsequently into degree programs and this reflects the continuing need for academic development in the Far East as well as world-wide generally. The Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Computing progression has provided students with strong academic knowledge in the various areas of Programming and Systems Development. The course aims to provide the necessary analytical and computing skills for the development and management of Computer Systems in respect of the development of abilities in, for example, system design and analysis as well as the concomitant problem-solving skills required to work at the leading edge of the appropriate technologies. Additionally, it aims to offer as flexible a framework as possible within which to build on a wide range of previous knowledge and experience towards professional aspirations within the spectrum of the modern Computer Industry. In addition, and more generally, the course aims to: provide a challenging, stimulating and self-rewarding study environment; provide a framework whereby individual study paths may be varied by means of a choice from a small range of options; develop a range of keys skill by means of opportunities provided in the study units; accommodate student needs in relation to maximising their career potential by enabling them to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in their chosen subject area. This programme is validated by NCC Education (UK).

The modules include C2001 Systems Analysis and Design, C2002 Software Engineering, C2004 Discrete Mathematics, C2005 Object Oriented Programming in Java, C2006 Project: Systems Development, C2020 Computer Architecture and Data Communication, C2027 Information Management, C2028 Database Management Systems.

Students to be considered for Normal entry into the programme: they must have obtained a pass or higher grade in the International Diploma in Computing awarded by Informatics Academy or equivalent; Diploma in a cognate subject. Other qualifications or experience which demonstrates that a candidate possesses appropriate knowledge and skills at Diploma level may be acceptable (may require taking bridging modules). For Matured Entry: Students must have attained 21 years and above, three years of relevant working experience (documentary proof required), completed Secondary education in English or proof of English Proficiency and may require to take bridging modules. They must fulfill the following English language requirements: IELTS - minimum score of 6.0 or TOEFL - Paper-based test of a minimum 550 or Informatics Proficiency in English Program.
