The programme aims to provide students a basic knowledge of computer hardware and software, introduce the business functions to which computers are applied, and examine the ways in which computers are integrated into business organizations, and to provide the specific mathematical skills required for the practical understanding of the use of computers, and sufficient training in programming to make possible the effective writing and documentation of a suite of programs in an appropriate programming language. This programme is validated by NCC Education (UK). The programme aims to provide the necessary analytical and computing skills for the development and management of Computer Systems in respect of the development of abilities in, for example, system design and analysis as well as the concomitant problem-solving skills required to work at the leading edge of the appropriate technologies. Graduates from this programme are expected to demonstrate sound knowledge and skills relating to computing, programming, and networking. They may become junior IT specialists in developing computer systems.

The modules include C1001 Computer and Information Processing, C1002 Programme Design, C1003 Mathematics for Computing, C1004 Project: Web Publishing with HTML, JavaScript and Java Applets, C1005 Project: “C” Programming, C1006 Computer Networks, C1022 Introduction to Java, C1025 Structured Query Language (Access 2003).

Students must have attained minimum 16 years of age with two GCE 'A' levels with English or Foundation Certificate for Higher Education (FCHE). They must have obtained minimum five 'N' Levels or three GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent with pass in English, must complete the Critical Thinking (CT) and Learning Skills (LS) as part of the foundation programme. Students without qualified English must do the English Communication (EC), Critical Thinking (CT) and Learning Skills (LS) modules as part of foundation programme. Waiver of the other components of the Foundation programme is on case-by-case basis. Alternative entry for (mature age): Students should have obtained minimum two years of working experience and over 21 years in age having completion of secondary education with pass in English. For online study mode, students must have attained 18 years old and above with two GCE 'A' levels credits. They must fulfill the following English language requirements: IELTS - minimum score of 6.0 or TOEFL - Paper-based test of a minimum 550 or Informatics Proficiency in English Program.
