This course prepares students for a vital role in petrochemical plants. They will also learn to operate, monitor and control continuous or batch processes, maintain safety, health and environmental standards in the petrochemical plant and analyse plant materials. Nitec in Chemical Process Technology (Petrochemicals) graduates are employed by companies in the chemical and petroleum industries. Some of the job titles held by graduates include process technician, operation technician and plant maintenance technician. There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. This challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.

Students must have completed GCE 'O' level with a grade of 1-8 in mathematics and science or GCE 'N' level passes with a grade of 1-5 or A-D in mathematics, science (except human and social biology)and one other subject. Students must be free from colour-appreciation deficiency.
