This course allows students to extend their careers in nursing, with the emphasis on teaching and learning methods; rather than producing technicians, it aims to enhance the quality of healthcare by fostering a broader, deeper and more critical approach to nursing and education; the course prepares students for a deeper involvement in the development and communication of the theories behind practice; the applied education element of this course allows students to register on the 'teacher' division of the Nursing and Midwifery Council; the course is also recognised by the Staff and Educational Development Association, and accredited by the Higher Education Academy.
