This course provides you with advanced knowledge of the concept and critiques of conflict analysis and resolution generated from both within and outside the field; the programme focuses on: the resolution of international or sub-state conflicts; the skills of applied conflict resolution from conflict mapping to the development of funding proposals through to media and communication skills; the programme aims to achieve a balance between offering students a grounding in the academic literature on conflict resolution and encouraging reflection on the practical skills required by practitioners operating in conflict and post-conflict environments; the course also offers students the option of participating in a study visit to Sri Lanka (the costs of this trip are in addition to normal student fees); the course has special relevance both for those wishing to study conflict resolution as an academic field and for those engaged in diplomacy or working in conflict resolution through aid agencies and non government organisations; it is designed to be accessible to those who combine experience with vocational and/or professional qualifications.
