Performance studies is dedicated to the making and analysis of many forms and styles of live event; through the practice of theory and the theory of practice students will be training from the outset and being challenged to think about performance in new and innovative ways; students will make group performances and solo performances, give lectures and present their intellectual ideas through performance; they are encouraged to develop their own artistic practice, informed by their own particular interests; they may already have an interest in movement, design, multi-media, new and innovative theatre, and performance styles from around the world; whatever style of performance or theatre students wish to make, they will be equipped with the right tools to bring their ideas and imaginings to fruition; the Welsh history scheme is designed for those students who wish to pursue and develop their interests in the history of Wales in tandem with more diverse interests in the histories of other cultures and countries; the last 30 years have witnessed a remarkable growth of interest in the study of Welsh history and the department has played a prominent role in stimulating shifts in historical perspectives.
