This course offers students an intensive route into teaching, emphasising school experience. It includes the study of the core subjects in the national curriculum, as well as the foundation curriculum and religious education, education and professional studies modules and the legal and professional role of the teacher. There is also the opportunity for them to undertake a research proposal, a dissertation and to work on a group vision on education for the future. It covers modules that include: teaching primary numeracy, teaching primary literacy, teaching primary science, introduction to the foundation subjects and re, delivering an effective curriculum in culturally diverse settings, PE in the primary curriculum, the legal and professional role of the teacher, continuity and progression in the core subjects and a dissertation.
