This course will allow you to look for employment within the motor sport industry. You will gain training in general motor mechanics and electronics. You will gain practical experience in preparing a race car prior to an event and attend race days as the vehicle support team. The course also runs in conjunction with a Performing Engineering Operations qualification to help gain the required hand skills to complete all practical assessments. What will you study? You will study units such as: • Engine Preparation • Lubrication – Wet and Dry Sump • Cooling System Evaluation • Petrol and Diesel Fuel Systems • Exhaust Gas Treatment • Electronic Ignition Systems • Steering and Suspension Geometry • Wheels and Tyres for Road and Race • Braking Systems for Road and Race • Maths, Science and Electronics contextualised towards Motor Sport • Competition Vehicle Preparation • Transmissions Systems
