This course gives you the opportunity to build on your drawing, presentation and research skills as well as compile a portfolio for application to specialist fashion courses at university. There will be an opportunity to visit fashion shows and undertake work experience in the fashion industry. The course concludes with a final major project in which you will have the freedom to explore your own creative interests in depth. What will you study: You will study units such as: Drawing Development, Materials, Techniques and Processes, Ideas and Concepts, Visual Communication, Fabric Manipulation, Pattern Development/Garment Construction, Design Principles, Production Techniques, Fashion Marketing/Promotion, Fashion Presentation Techniques. Students on the Level 3 Extended Diploma pathways may have the opportunity to change their specialist options at the end of the first stage of the course, for instance from Fashion to General Art or Photography.
