This Foundation Degree has been designed to meet the developing roles within for those working with children, young people and their families. Within a rapidly changing sector, Government initiatives such as the Every Child Matters agenda and the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children's Workforce, are vital and dynamic parts of daily working life. This programme will allow those working within a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams to enhance their knowledge, understanding, skills and career opportunities. It encompasses pathways particularly for those working in schools, such as teaching assistants and for those working in social care settings alongside focusing on the transferable skills and knowledge required for working in the wider Children's Workforce provision.

Equivalent GCSE Level: Normally English and Maths at Grade C or above. Together with one of the following: A minimum of 60 tariff points at A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification, Access to Higher Education: Considered on an individual basis, Applications from mature students without academic credentials will be considered on an individual basis. National and Advanced Diplomas in a relevant subject are accepted as a progression to a Foundation Degree and HND. Prospective students will be required to successfully complete a criminal records bureau check CRB. Please note, additional costs may be incurred for necessary CRB check and if any equipment, resources or trips need to be purchased.
