You will learn the vocational skills you need to successfully work in the travel and tourism industry. You will have the opportunity to study professional, industry-based qualifications. You will develop your customer service and communication skills, learn how the industry works and about available career opportunities.

You will study:

• promotions and sales in travel and tourism,
• travel insurance,
• development of tour operators' products and service,
• travel and tourism destinations: England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales,
• ancillary sales and services,
• travel and tourism legislation,
• foreign exchange,
• package holidays,
• worldwide adventure tourism,
• investigating the cruise industry,
• principles of supervising customer service performance in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism.

The course is theoretical and practical, based on realistic work experience. You will also have the opportunity to study the NCFE Award for Resort Representatives and the NCFE Introductory Certificate for Air Cabin Crew. Both qualifications will lead to guaranteed interviews with some of the UK's largest tourism companies.

You will:

• have the opportunity to work in the college's Travel Centre;
• put on a worldwide travel exhibition which will be open to the public;
• visit a simulated aircraft for your cabin crew assessment day; and 
• go on a variety of trips and visits. You may need to wear a uniform for some activities. There will be an overseas residential study visit.
