The course studies the history, commercial value, artistic merit and developing framework of dance and fitness; focussing on law, economics, marketing and the financial aspects of dance and fitness as well as the strategic benefits and delivery of dance and fitness to a changing public; in the final year students complete a major project which focuses on how dance and fitness integrate with business/physical/ teaching delivery; students are expected to teach, perform, and compete or to take classes at the university as part of their programme of study and can also work in a range of disciplines afforded by partnerships within the community and across the dance and fitness world; the facilities enable students to practise a range of dance and fitness activities as well as participating in nutritional and fitness programmes; the programme is suitable for all styles and grades of dancers and fitness enthusiasts and the focus is on the enjoyment of dance and fitness; the programme also equips students with commercial skills as well as enterprise development for those wishing to start up their own business.
