The course in economics assumes no previous knowledge of economics but the structure also means that it is stimulating for those who have studied the subject before studied alongside hospitality and tourism.

कार्यक्रमका खाकाहरू

Economics: Year 1: Consumers and industries with markets; market failure and the role of government; unemployment; inflation. Year 2: Microeconomics; macroeconomics. A number of optional classes are also available. Year 3: Builds on and develops the foundations that have been laid in years 1 and 2 with a view to studying the subject intensely in the Honours year. A combination of core and optional classes are available. Year 4: Wide selections of optional classes complement the core macroeconomics and microeconomics offerings including: Regional economics; development economics; natural resource and environmental economics; econometric theory; topics in applied econometrics; international finance; economics of competitive strategy; economics of corporate strategy. Hospitality and Tourism: Year 1: Basic concepts, issues and operational features of hospitality; tourism; cultural heritage; festivals; events. Year 2: Classes concentrate on management theories relevant to hospitality and tourism and expose students to current challenges faced by managers. Year 3: Students will be exposed to a range of research and project-based methods of analysis through choosing to participate in a field visit, or select an industry-based project to work on, according to their interests and preferences. Year 4: Hospitality management; tourism management; a combination of both, or joint Honours with another.
