This course places strong emphasis on state-of-the-art electronics for energy-efficient devices and power electronics; the course also covers: renewable energy generation technologies; new developments such as plastic electronics, energy harvesting, solar cells and biofuels are discussed and recent developments in nanotechnology are highlighted; students learn about numerical simulation techniques and have the chance to visit electronics industries with links to Swansea; modules focus on power and renewable energy generation technologies, power electronics, and new semiconductor materials for more efficient electronics; there is also an emphasis on cutting edge research technology; the course provides students with the knowledge, motivation, and self-learning skills required for continuous professional development during their future careers and provides valuable experience of working on complex projects both as individuals and as team members.
