These courses are ideal for anyone who wants to improve their English in order to progress to a university course, or for work or social purposes. Our English with Academic Skills (EAS) courses offer you: - High quality courses in a university context - A language learning environment which encourages hard-work and serious study - Relevant content that will improve your English language ability and study skills Interactivity between you and your teachers, with other students and the University environment - Clear and informative feedback on written and spoken English Assessment to measure your progress - Development of your independence as a student - Support through tutorials and our excellent support facilities We offer four full-time English with Academic Skills courses to suit students with different levels of English competence. The table below will tell you which course is the most appropriate for your current level of English and which courses you need to do to reach the required level for your chosen degree course. Each course takes 12 weeks to complete and successful completion will raise your IELTS score by approximately one point. In order to successfully complete the course you need to attend a minimum of 85% of the course and have a minimum pass rate of 50% in our tests. You can start a 12-week EAS course in September, January, or June. Courses can also be run in May if schools or colleges wish to send groups of students, subject to demand. You can also join the course halfway, at the six-week entry point in November, March or July, if you need to top-up your English competence. Successful completion will raise your IELTS score by approximately 0.5 of a point.
