This pathway is suitable for students who wish to combine creativity with a high level of technical knowledge and an understanding of global manufacturing; students work with industry-standard Gerber pattern cutting software.

Level 4: Modules introduce the basic principles and concepts of fashion design; students practice pattern cutting and construction through a number of design projects; a variety of drawing and illustration techniques are introduced; as well as computer-aided design; fabric research; styling and trends prediction and historical contemporary and cultural studies relating to fashion. Level 5: concentrates on furthering technical knowledge and studio practice skills; whilst expanding research skills and creative development; modules include tailoring design; advanced manufacturing skills; illustration; styling; garment technology and design for performance; personal and professional development and effective liaison with industry leading to work experience are features of the programme at this level; at the end of semester 2; students choose their named award in preparation for their personal programme of study in level 6. Level 6: students take more responsibility for their own professional development; final collections or projects are encouraged to be innovative and diverse in approach; portfolio development is essential throughout level 6.
