Similar to our BA (Hons) Festival & Event Management course, this route allows you to also specialise in French, German, Spanish, Italian or English as a Foreign Language; the festival and event sector is a global business; studying languages alongside this dynamic subject will give candidates a head start in dealing with international clients and artists, putting them a step ahead in their career; studying in Edinburgh; a city rich in culture and creative industries; students will be ideally placed to learn about festival and event management; it is home to world famous events such as the International and Fringe festivals and Hogmanay which attract tourists and travellers from all over the world; students will have plenty of opportunities to gain industry experience and make contacts via an industry placement or live project and part time work; students will learn how to: plan; design; market; operate and develop events; as well as how these can be used to help local economies and communities; students will also study a European language which will prepare them for working in an international environment; plus students will also get the opportunity to study abroad through our international exchange links; students will develop practical event management skills, as well as a broad range of management skills that can be applied to other industries; students will also gain transferable skills in research; interpersonal; academic writing; communication; presentation and time management.
