Year 2: Compulsory modules: Spanish language; managing research and learning; Hollywood in the 1930s: genre, industry and politics; early film; 1 option: gender, race and nation in modern Latin America; culture and society in Portugal and Brazil; globalisation: economics, politics, culture and the Nation State; autobiography and testimony; ethnography for language learners; 1 option: high, popular and mass culture in the Hispanic world; language variation in the Spanish-speaking world; unmaskink 'terrorism': political violence in Spain; psycholinguistics; 1 option: introduction to German cinema; French cinema in the 1930s; 1 option: gender and national identities in Spanish cinema: 1973-1999; introduction to British television.
