You will develop all the right skills and understanding to function as a ceramicist in the contemporary world. Your time will be spent learning your craft, moving from the basics through to the development and clarification of your own unique ceramics practice.

You will work with both two and three dimensional media, exploring construction, surface, colour, drawing, decoration, and learning the technicalities of working with ceramic materials. The course is supported by contextual studies, which help to place art and design within the wider world, and business studies to provide an understanding of the promotion and management of visual work. The ceramics studio is well equipped with gas kilns, electric kilns and also has outdoor firing facilities; general studio space is also available to students.

The course is validated by Leeds Metropolitan University, which means that graduates receive a Leeds Metropolitan University foundation degree.
