The geography degree includes a focus on both physical and human geography; it looks at issues such as earth systems, geomorphology and landscape, coastal and glacial environments, the changing nature of cities, and the relationships between peoples and landscapes; alongside general skills students acquire subject-specific skills; students also have the opportunity to consider the interdisciplinary nature of the subjects ranging from the natural sciences to social sciences, in addition to the study of a wide range of environmental challenges facing modern society; fieldwork is fully embedded into the course; students may also have the opportunity to visit different parts of the world in 1 of the university�s many exchange and volunteering programmes; the Mathematics programme provides all-round understanding of mathematics, and is designed to meet the needs of students training to be primary school teachers and those studying mathematics in a more general education context; students graduate with confidence in the subject, and an understanding of key ideas which underpin school curriculum mathematics; the programme aims to extend students� own understanding of the subject and provide meaningful connections to the mathematics of the classroom.
