The course builds upon knowledge and understanding of the wider policy, legal, organisational and practice contexts of health and social care introduced at foundation degree level, enabling and encouraging students to apply and often to challenge key theoretical concepts, such as evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary working, anti-discriminatory practice, in their own work environment.Year 1: (1 year only): Core Modules: human rights in the context of health and social care; managing personal learning and development;dissertation; management and organisational behaviour; (plus 1 fromthe following optional modules); working with families; public health policy and practice; mental health; disability and social exclusion.
