The course combines personal development, theory and practice at all stages; in addition, those on the Bachelor's in Humanistic Counselling Practice engage in a practice placement at Diploma and BA stages.
कार्यक्रमका खाकाहरू
Year 1: The 1st year of the course provides the student with the core knowledge for practice, i.e. key counselling theory and appropriate use of counselling skills: Counselling and personal growth; the culture of counselling; awareness and communication 1; coping with change; awareness and communication 2; issues of power and oppression; the challenge of individual growth. Year 2: In the 2nd year students work towards professional status via supervised counselling practice: Person-centred theory and practice; human development theory and psychopathology; ethical foundation and professional practice; personal therapy and personal development; supervised counselling practice and case study. Year 3: In the final year students gain further knowledge through a consolidating in-depth study and a choice of elective modules: comparative humanistic counselling approaches; integration of personal development; consolidation of professional development plus electives: the body in counselling; solution focussed brief therapy; working with trauma; working with addictions; working with grief and loss.
