पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
You will learn about different aspects of the aviation industry and complete twelve units of study over the duration of the course. The following four 'core' units are mandatory: 1. The Aviation Industry; 2. Health, Safety and Security in the Aviation Industry; 3. Meeting Customer Needs in the Aviation Industry and 4. Air Travel Information.
In addition you will also study a further eight 'specialist' units, the choice of which will depend on the specialisms of the staff as well as the career aspirations of yourself and your fellow learners on the course. In the 2010-11 academic year the following units were included:
1. Marketing the Aviation Industry; 2. e-Business for Airlines; 3. Handling Air Passengers; 4. Preparation for Working in the Aviation Industry; 5. Human Resources in the Aviation Industry; 6. Airport Operations; 7. Team Leadership in the Aviation Industry; 8. Conflict Management for Aviation (all units are subject to change).
You will also receive regular one-to-one and group tutorial sessions.
The course will also include a number of trips around the UK including visits to various airports and cities which have included Liverpool, Manchester, Blackpool and Dublin. We also have links with Easyjet and Monarch Airlines and regularly take learners to their crew rooms and offices. An annual visit to Liverpool Air Traffic Control Tower is also scheduled. Some trips will be free of charge to you whilst others will require a contribution towards or the payment in full of the cost of these trips. It is therefore essential that students have a full and current UK or European passport and a willingness to attend out of college activities. Each year the Travel Department also organises a European Residential visit, which you will be expected to go on.
A uniform (suit) will be required for this course (approx £80.00), details will be discussed near the start of the course. In addition a tie (for male) and a neck scarf (for female) learners will have to be worn. You will also be required to purchase a Columbus World Travel Atlas to assist you with your studies (approximate cost £25.00).
