This course is designed to prepare the student for work within the areas of theatre and performance; the course offers practical skills and theoretical knowledge of acting techniques, dance, physical theatre, voice, directing, choreography, media performance, business management and touring; students are encouraged to explore contemporary performance practices within the wider context of performing arts and to experiment with a wide range of performance techniques, technologies and styles.

Year 1: Introductory units explore general performance techniques and provide basic training and understanding of contemporary acting, dance, physical theatre and voice; the practical work is underpinned by historical and contemporary studies and culminates in a major performance project; units at this level include: Research project; business management; acting methods and styles; acting for camera; voice and speech; contemporary dance; choreography and physical theatre. Year 2: Project realisation; professional practice; acting methods (innovations); dance for camera; directing; group choreography; touring; workshop leadership.
