Physics is 1 of the richest of subjects to study; the concepts of physics can be thought of as the verbs of scientific language: all events in the universe, from the striking of a bow across a violin string to the explosion of a super nova, have a fundamental physical component; this course lays a firm grounding in core physical concepts whilst exploring the breadth of physics through a range of exciting specialist modules in: fundamental particles, relativity and solid-state physics; the business and management course enables students to develop a broad understanding of management in the business context; students develop the skills to analyse management issues in relation to company priorities, staff needs and external factors, and be introduced to current perceptions of good management practice.

Year 1: Physics (includes: atomic physics; vibrations and waves; dynamics; electricity and magnetism; instrumentation and data handling; laboratory physics). Years 2 and 3: Mathematics; physics (includes: recent experimental and theoretical studies in classical physics, atomic and nuclear physics; quantum mechanics; relativity; electromagnetic theory; fluid dynamics; thermal physics; optics; theoretical physics); project.
