This course is offered on a non-modular basis; the course ensures that students enter teaching with professional skills; attitudes and competences to focus their subject expertise on teaching and learning in the modern secondary school; the course recruits graduates from a full range of secondary teaching disciplines and is attended by UK; EU and international students; the course is recognised as a valid teaching qualification throughout the world; secondary school teachers are able to qualify to teach 1 or 2 subject areas of the secondary curriculum; the course is modular and has 120 credits; 10 credits equalling 90 hours of study; school experience also accounts for some of these contact hours; in addition students are required to undertake independent and supported study tasks.
