Course is designed to give students a solid understanding of the key technologies needed for a career in 1 of the many areas of internet computing; a large proportion of the degree is based on teaching skills that are directly applicable to real-world applications; as a result, material taught in lecturers is reinforced by practical laboratory classes and workshops; the academic faculty has experience in the design and implementation of real internet-based projects for external companies, specialising in the areas of web-design, databases, computer networks and information retrieval; these links with business and industry are exploited in the degree, by setting real-world problems and using real data in practical projects and coursework.
