This course allows the student to investigate the diversity of the sports industry from health and fitness and sports therapy to sports coaching. It examines in depth both the practical and theoretical aspects of the sports industry and allows the students to: understand the development of local authority sports strategies, understand the role of sports development officers, develop their own practical skills, develop their coaching skills, gain experience of fitness testing and assessment. It covers the body in action, health and safety in sport, training and fitness for sport, sports coaching, sports development, fitness testing for sport and exercise, practical team sports and practical individual sports.
