This course has been developed in partnership with employers in the tourism sector and will give you high-quality, relevant knowledge and expertise that can be readily applied in the workplace. Participants will develop analytical and evaluative skills, and be encouraged to demonstrate innovative approaches to the tourism business. Areas of study include organisational behaviour, accountancy, marketing, professional and academic development, tourism industry environment, and tourism operations. Year 2 develops tourism industry environment along with human resource management, financial management, tourism management. A work placement and research methods and project are also included. On gaining a merit profile on this Foundation degree, students may progress on to the BA (Hons) International Tourism Management, or the BA (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management at Bournemouth University.
