Each trainee has a customised programme; the course includes formal teaching in a wide range of translational and pharmacological skills, and a project which takes proof-of-concept studies in cell or animal systems forward to proof-of-concept studies in humans; all trainees have the opportunity for hands-on exposure to the design and conduct of experimental medicine studies investigating the therapeutic potential of new drugs, in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK); in addition to the course fee (University Composition fee) students may have to pay a college fee.
