This program offers training for both beginning and advanced students in the areas of ballet, modern, and jazz. The emphasis is on technique, choreography, and extensive performance opportunities. Students will be able to: demonstrate proficiency in two of the following dance styles modern, ballet, and jazz; exhibit accomplished technique in tap and folkloric dance; demonstrate competency through public performances; develop and informed viewpoint of dance as an art form; demonstrate choreographic skills including supervisory and effective communicative abilities.

Admission to this college is opened for applicants possessing a high school diploma or the equivalent or any individual who is at least 18 years of age and capable of profiting from the instruction. International students with a TOEFL score of less than 475 paper-based, 153 computer-based, or 53 internet-based are required to take the Allan Hancock College English as a Second Language (ESL) assessment test for placement into the appropriate ESL classes before registering for classes. And those who with a score of 475 paper-based (153 computer-based) or higher on the TOEFL are required to take the Allan Hancock College START test for English placement.
