This program includes basic accounting knowledge including skills in proprietorships, partnerships and corporations, with career enhancement in the area of cost, tax, inventory control, and payroll and purchasing. Educational opportunities also include the ability to computerize this knowledge through classroom and laboratory instruction. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. Qualified accountants and auditors should have good job opportunities.

Applicants must have completed high school core curriculum requirements such as four units in English - grammar, composition and literature, three units in mathematics - algebra I and above, two units in history- must include one unit of American history, two units in lab science - biology, chemistry, physics or any lab science certified by the school district, one unit in citizenship skills - economics, geography, government, non-western culture, three units in other - additional units of subjects above and/or from computer science and/or foreign language. Applicants should have graduated from an accredited high school or should have earned a General Education Diploma (GED). In addition to this, international students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (paper-based), or 61 (internet-based); or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0.
