This program is designed to train students to install, maintain, program and test a large variety of electronic and mechanical metering devices serving residential, commercial and industrial customer. It also provides training in safe, efficient and timely installation and maintenance of electric metering devices and associated equipment to insure accurate billing of customer load.

The modules are as follows: CIS 1113 COMPUTER CONCEPTS WITH APPLICATIONS, EET 1104 FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRICITY, EET 1244 CIRCUIT ANALYSIS I, EPT 1103 PRINT READING, EPT 1123 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS COMPONENTS, EPT 2063 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS PROTECTION, EPT 2133 FUNDAMENTALS OF METERING, EPT 2333 SINGLE/POLYPHASE METERING, EPT 2503 TRANSFORMERS, EPT 2533 ADVANCED METERING TECHNIQUES, EPT 2603 CAPSTONE, EPT 2603 CAPSTONE, PTDT 2013 DRIVER SAFETY AND CDL TRAINING.

Applicants must have completed high school core curriculum requirements such as four units in English - grammar, composition and literature, three units in mathematics - algebra I and above, two units in history - must include one unit of American history, two units in lab science - biology, chemistry, physics or any lab science certified by the school district, one unit in citizenship skills - economics, geography, government, non-western culture, three units in other - additional units of subjects above and/or from computer science and/or foreign language. Applicants should have graduated from an accredited high school or should have earned a General Education Diploma (GED). In addition to this, international students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (paper-based), or 61 (internet-based); or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0.
