This program prepares students for a wide variety of positions in the motion picture broadcast industries. Students write produce and edit narrative and documentary projects in a series of courses designed to bring students from beginning through intermediate production and post-production technique. All courses provide students access to the latest in digital production and post-production technology. In addition, students learn to critically interpret motion pictures through a series of courses in film history and aesthetics.

Admission to this college is opened for applicants possessing a high school diploma or the equivalent or any individual who is at least 18 years of age and capable of profiting from the instruction. International students with a TOEFL score of less than 475 paper-based, 153 computer-based, or 53 internet-based are required to take the Allan Hancock College English as a Second Language (ESL) assessment test for placement into the appropriate ESL classes before registering for classes. And those who with a score of 475 paper-based (153 computer-based) or higher on the TOEFL are required to take the Allan Hancock College START test for English placement.
