This program focuses on developing proficiencies in both theoretical and practical applications. Up to 22 hours of prior learning credit can be applied toward the career studies component of the degree. It is designed for practitioners already working in the field, the A.S. degree in general engineering provides preparation for management and leadership opportunities within engineering fields, it is also appropriate for students preparing to transfer to a bachelor’s-level engineering program. Students who want to design systems, components, or processes to meet the needs of upholding public safety, economy, efficiency, and the environment will find a host of career options in the field of engineering. From designing computers, to golf courses, to bridges, to helicopters, to roadways, engineers can choose careers that allow them to work independently, or select to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
