This program provides a curriculum that serves both student and industry needs. The degree is meant to be both conceptual and practical, providing a foundation in general management theory, as well as in specific computer applications. Graduates with this A.A.S. may pursue careers in local, state, or federal government, nonprofit organizations, the private sector, or cultural institutions. Possible career paths include technology management and office management. In addition, the degree offers excellent preparation for a bachelor’s or further advanced McGhee degree including B.S. degrees in Leadership and Management Studies, Digital Communications and Media, Information Systems Management, and Real Estate.

The McGhee Core Curriculum is required of all degree-seeking students enrolled at the Paul McGhee Division: Writing (8 - 10 Credits): The following courses may be required based on writing placement assessment, and should be successfully completed within the first three semesters: Intensive Writing Workshop / Y20.7501; Writing Workshop I / Y20.7502; Writing Workshop II / Y20.7503. Critical Thinking (4 Credits): Critical Thinking / Y20.6401. Quantitative Reasoning (4 Credits): Students select one of the following based on math placement assessment in close consultation with their advisor: Math I / Y10.1101; Mathematical Reasoning / Y10.1105; Math II / Y10.1141; Precalculus / Y10.1171; Calculus with Applications to Business and Economics / Y10.1174. History, Culture, and Art (12 Credits): Students select one course from each subgroup in consultation with their advisor. Historical Perspectives (4 Credits): Renaissance to Revolution / Y20.5804; The American Experience / Y20.5820; Classical and Medieval World / Y20.5821; Contemporary World / Y20.5822. Global Perspectives (4 Credits): World Cultures: Africa / Y20.5011; World Cultures: Middle East / Y20.5012; World Cultures: Asia / Y20.5013; World Cultures: Latin America and the Caribbean / Y20.5014. Literary and Artistic Expressions (4 Credits): History of Music / Y20.5438; Visual Expressions in Society / Y20.5441; Major 20th-Century Writers / Y20.6201; Oral Traditions into Literature / Y20.6209. Core Curriculum (32-34 Credits) - Required Courses (28 Credits): Students select six out of the following seven courses: Introduction to Macroeconomics / Y10.0301; Introduction to Microeconomics / Y10.0341; Business Management and Organization / Y10.0504; Systems Analysis / Y10.0742; Local Area Networks / Y10.0743; Multimedia Presentations / Y10.0747; Management Information Systems / Y10.0771.
