The Histotechnology Program is designed to prepare students in the essential skills, techniques, and specialized competencies required to prepare tissue for microscopic examination. Formal classroom instruction is supplemented with two semesters of part-time clinical experience in the instrumental and microscopic procedures required in histologic technique. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to take the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) registry examination for certification as a Histotechnican.

To gain admission, students are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and achieve a minimum score of 500 (standard test) or 173 (computer-based test). All International students who are admitted to HCC will be required to take the College's Academic Skills Assessment.
