This program builds a foundation in computer science and applies these concepts to the world of e-commerce and website development. All students take introductory classes in operating systems and program design. The program also includes courses in programming and network administration. Students interested in programming-oriented careers will find the curriculum challenging and rewarding. Students obtain experience with client-side programming, server-side programming, video and audio streaming, as well as database integration and other ways to make the web an effective tool for business. Students also learn project management and the use of timetables and other organizational techniques. Software tools including flash, dreamweaver, and javascript are utilized, but the main curriculum emphasis is on programming solutions to actual problems.

Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
