This program is designed to emphasize the development of skills, knowledge, and attributes that can be found in the financial services industry, including accounting, banking, financial planning, investment, insurance, and other areas of financial management. This concentration investigates money management, accounting procedures, financial transactions, regulatory issues, and customer service in commercial and consumer arenas. Nine weeks in length, Axia College courses are offered in pairs, or "blocks," designed to complement each other. In these courses, emphasis alternates weekly between reading and online discussion one week and a work project the next.

The modules are as follows: FIS200 History of Money, FIS210 Personal Finance: What Does Opportunity Cost, ECO205 Economic Theory, FIS240 Investment Management: Greater Returns Mean Greater, FIS250 Risk Management: Insuring Uncertainty, FIS260 Financial Markets and Institutions.

Applicant must have earned a high school diploma, GED, California High School Proficiency Examination certificate, or foreign secondary school equivalent. Applicants who do not currently meet this requirement can arrange to take the GED through their state GED administrator's office or search for the nearest GED testing center. They can be currently employed and if not, they must have access to an organizational environment that allows them to apply the concepts they learn in their courses. They can be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved, valid visa if attending a campus located in the United States. Students should pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), the Berlitz Online English Proficiency Exam or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if the student is a non-native speaker of English.
