This program prepares students to work as skilled technicians alongside chemists and chemical engineers, or for continuing study in chemistry or chemical engineering. It is designed to be completed in only two years and will qualify students to work as skilled technicians alongside professional chemists and chemical engineers. Students in the Associate of Science in Chemical Technology program have available to them the same facilities and experiences as students in the four-year chemistry program.

Students must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent. The high school course work includes algebra one and two; one semester of trigonometry, pre-calculus or senior math; two semesters of chemistry and physics. They should have a recomputed overall GPA of 2.0 or better in individual academic subjects. They must possess American College Test (ACT) or Standard Achievement Test (SAT) scores. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test or a score of 6.0 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, they have an option to complete ESL courses at LTU.
