This program requires the completion of a minimum of 60 semester hours of credit with a grade point ratio of at least 2.0 (C) for all work completed at Chaminade University. The degree also requires the completion of the general education core. At least 15 semester hours of course work and 12 semester hours in the area of emphasis must be completed at Chaminade University. PSY 101, General Psychology, is a general education requirement. Demonstrated computer proficiency is required.

Applicants must have secured passing scores in Praxis I, should have a minimum GPA of 2.75 after completion of general education requirements and should submit a signed memorandum of understanding (MOU). Applicants should have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent. Adequate preparation typically includes English (four years), social studies (three years), mathematics (three years), science (two years) and college preparatory electives (four years). For unconditional admission they must have obtained a minimum of GPA 2.5, SAT 900 (critical reading and math) or ACT 19, or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 21(computer-based) or 79-80 (internet based).
