This program is designed to prepare students for technician-level positions in the manufacturing industry and it focuses on various manufacturing processes, the use and testing of materials, production methods, quality control, and the fundamentals of project management. Students find employment in production, design, research and development, project management, quality control, or technical sales.

Students must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent. The high school course work includes algebra one and two; one semester of trigonometry, pre-calculus or senior math; two semesters of chemistry and physics. They should have a recomputed overall GPA of 2.0 or better in individual academic subjects. They must possess American College Test (ACT) or Standard Achievement Test (SAT) scores. International students must have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test or a score of 6.0 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, they have an option to complete ESL courses at LTU.
