This program teaches the essential humanities skills of critical analysis, research, and communication through examination of the social context in which art was historically - and continues to be - created. At SLU, the Art History faculty offers a broad chronological and geographical field of study ranging from ancient Greece, through Medieval and Renaissance Europe, to the beginnings of modernity and the most current movements in American art.

To be considered for admission to any Saint Louis University undergraduate program, the applicant must be a graduate of an accredited high school or must have an acceptable score on the General Education Development (GED) test. Students are strongly encouraged to present five academic courses for each of the four years of high school. These academic courses should include the following: 4 years of English, 4 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Foreign Language, 3 years of Natural Sciences, 3 years of Social Sciences and 3 years of Academic Electives. The minimum scores required for TOEFL is paper-based (PBT) = 550, Internet-based (iBT) = 80 and Computer-based (CBT) = 213 and IELTS score should be 6.0.
