The managerial economics option is an interdisciplinary program which allows students to use business classes toward the requirements of the economics degree. The Managerial Economics option is suited for students interested in pursuing jobs or graduate study in business with a strong economics background. Students will learn a set of quantitative and analytical skills that will allow them to make sense of and draw conclusions from real world data, understand and appreciate how incentives influence human behavior and how this behavior affects markets and economies, become a rigorous and logical thinker, able to apply these abilities to a wide variety of real world occupations. Job titles of Economics graduates include the following: financial analyst, staff accountant, business analyst, management consultant, financial controller, economist, financial advisor, securities trader, loan officer, marketing research analyst, investment banker, forecaster, project manager.

Industrial Organization Theory and Policy (4) - online Fall2011, BA 215. Money and Investment Management: Manager, Lender, Investor Viewpoint (4) or BA 211. Financial Accounting (4) and BA 213. Managerial Accounting (4), BA 360. Introduction to Financial Management (4), Any two courses listed below (8 credits): BA 351. Managing Organizations (4), BA 357. Operations Management (4), BA 390. Applicants must have an excellent academic record (a minimum 3. 0 on a 4.0 scale or "B" grade average or equivalent) from an accredited or recognized institution to be admitted to Oregon State University. International students must have the following GPA scores: Paper score of 550; Internet score of 80 (Minimum score of 16 on each section) and IELTS score of 6.5.
