This program focus on the geographic theories and concepts that help us understand spatial patterns of land use and human activity, especially in large and small urban settings. The courses in this program introduce the importance of social and demographic issues for understanding spatial behavior and spatial distributions. If a career in city, town, or even regional planning or consulting is anticipated, this sequence should include an internship to provide critical experience. This sequence also prepares students for careers in market analysis and location analysis.

Students should complete, as a minimum, the following college preparatory courses while in high school: Four years of English, three years of math (algebra I, algebra II and geometry), two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. History), two years of a single foreign language (3 years strongly recommended), two years of laboratory science, three years of electives. The minimum score requirement for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based). The minimum score requirement for the IELTS exam is 6.5.
