In this program students concentrating in sculpture work in a wide variety of media, such as plaster, wood concrete, stone, clay, rubber, wax, plastic, and metal. There are well-equipped metal-casting and welding areas in the Foundry. Following the technical training in Sculpture I and II, students are encouraged to pursue their individual artistic interests through work in both traditional and new genre sculptural practices, including site-specific installation and projection work.

Students must meet the following preparatory courses: 16 units, including four of English and Architecture: four of mathematics (including plane geometry, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry) and one of physics recommended additional preparation: one unit of calculus and three or four of foreign language (three years of one language or two years each of two languages) Art: three or four of foreign language (three years of one language or two years each of two languages) Urban studies: three of mathematics, three of one foreign language, and three of science. Students should have completed at least 55 credits, with a minimum of 30 earned at Cornell, and who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Students seeking admission must have the equivalent of an American high school education at the time of admission. International students whose first language is not English must have taken the TOEFL/IELTS exam. A minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test or 100 on internet-based test and the recommended minimum IELTS score of 7 is needed to be considered for admission. They will waive the TOEFL and/or IELTS requirement for students who have achieved a score of 670 or higher on the critical reading section of the SAT reasoning test.
