This is a multidisciplinary program designed for students who have a deep interest in social and political issues and who wish to sharpen the analytical abilities they bring to bear on questions regarding justice and fairness. This set of courses provides students with the skills and intellectual foundations required for well-informed, reflective and effective participation in political and community life. This track also prepares students for graduate studies in philosophy, law, and, with supplements, political science and economics.

A freshman is a student starting college or university for the first time or transferring with less than 16 credits. Usually this student is directly out of secondary school with no college/university experience. Students’ academic performance will be evaluated for acceptance to Metropolitan State. If students grade reports are not issued with a U.S. 4.0 grading system the admissions office will evaluate their ECE report to determine eligibility. Freshmen students need to have a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) in an American equivalent system. International students should have official TOEFL scores. The required TOEFL minimum scores are as follows: 500 on paper test, 173 on computer-based exam, and 61 on internet based exam.
