This program places emphasis on basic science and engineering courses, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, biology, materials, and thermodynamics, providing a solid foundation for application of engineering principles to biological systems. Students learn to analyze and develop solutions to unique engineering problems of biological and agricultural systems. Scientific and engineering principles are applied to problems in concentration areas chosen by the students. This curriculum prepares students for postgraduate work leading to advanced degrees in Biological and Agricultural Engineering and other areas of engineering and the biological sciences. Students studying in the agricultural engineering concentration, pursue a challenging curriculum that introduces them to issues, principles and practices related to the production and management of agricultural products. The concentration offers a solid foundation in the engineering sciences and broad exposure to agricultural engineering practices. Students receive training in the applied technologies for agriculture. This concentration is very hands-on and involves shop and field learning environments.

Students should have a high school diploma or its equivalent and the following course units taken in high school: six course units in languages; four course units of mathematics; three course units in science; two course units in social studies. International students should have a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on the internet based exam, 213 on the computer-based exam, 550 or higher on the paper based exam; an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher; completion of Level 6 with a grade of B or higher on the Intensive English program are required for admission.
