The Communication Sciences and Disorders undergraduate curriculum emphasizes preparation in basic communication sciences, normal development of communication, communication differences and disorders, and clinical interventions. The goal of the B.S. degree program in Communication Sciences and Disorders is to provide speech-language pathology students with a solid knowledge base on which to build their professional skills.

The following are the modules: Major (55): CSD 130, 220, 322, 324, 325, 426, 431, 432, 434, 441, 442, 450, 452, 457, 460, 461, ENGL 361, CEEP 262 or PSY 240. Plus 24 credits of approved electives or completion of a minor. Completion of CSD 450 with a grade of C or higher fulfills the university's upper division writing requirement. CSD Minor: Speech-Language Pathology Emphasis (24); CSD 130, 220, 322, 431, 432, 434, 442, 468. CSD Minor: Deaf Education Emphasis (24): CSD 130, 220, 322, 324, 325, 441, 442, 468.

Applicants must have four years of English including composition and literature, three years of social studies including one year each of U.S. history and geography, three years of math including two years of algebra and one of geometry, two years of the same world language, one year in an area of the arts, three years of science including one year of each of a biological and physical science and one year laboratory experience. International applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements: meet the score of 61 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or 500 for the Institutional (paper) TOEFL or 500 standard on International (paper) Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Apart from this they must also have 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), 70 on Michigan, SAT critical reading score of 370, graduation from an English-medium high school with a 2.5 (cumulative equivalent) GPA or higher.
